چکیده

In this contribution, the use of discrete simulations to formulate an anisotropic damage model is investigated. It proposed a beam–particle perform numerical characterization tests. Indeed, explicitly describes cracking by allowing displacement discontinuities and thus capture crack induced anisotropy quasi-brittle materials such as concrete. Through 2D simulations, evolution effective elasticity tensor for various loading tests, up failure, obtained. The analysis these tensors through bi-dimensional harmonic decomposition then performed estimate tensorial evolution. shown in quantitative manner that second order –instead fourth order– sufficient practice, even when micro-cracks are strongly interacting. As by-product present work we obtain upper bound distance orthotropic symmetry class elasticity.

Discrete Fracture Model with Anisotropic Load Sharing

A two-dimensional fracture model where the interaction among elements is modeled by an anisotropic stress-transfer function is presented. The influence of anisotropy on the macroscopic properties of the samples is clarified, by interpolating between several limiting cases of load sharing. Furthermore, the critical stress and the distribution of failure avalanches are obtained numerically for di...

A new conforming mesh generator for three-dimensional discrete fracture networks

Nowadays, numerical modelings play a key role in analyzing hydraulic problems in fractured rock media. The discrete fracture network model is one of the most used numerical models to simulate the geometrical structure of a rock-mass. In such media, discontinuities are considered as discrete paths for fluid flow through the rock-mass while its matrix is assumed impermeable. There are two main pa...

Multi-scale modelling of damage and fracture

Recently, a novel multi-scale modelling approach for damage and fracture problems was presented. This method departs from classical computational homogenization (FE) and evolves to a discontinuity enriched scheme upon the localization detection. Rotating boundary conditions allow for microscale localization bands to develop. The formulation of the macroscopic cohesive discontinuity enables the ...

Modelling blood pressure as a continuous outcome variable in a co-twin control study.

The co-twin control study is a popular research design that is used in many research disciplines, including epidemiology, medicine, and the behavioural sciences. In co-twin control studies of monozygotic (MZ) exposure discordant twin pairs, the appropriate statistical tests used to analyse data from continuous outcome variables are the parametric paired sample t test or the non-parametric Wilco...

Shape- Dependent Term Investigation of Khan- Liu Yield/ Fracture Criterion as a Function of Plastic Strain for Anisotropic Metals

The current paper primarily aims to suggest a mathematical model for the shape-dependent term of Khan- Liu (KL) Yield/ fracture criterion as a function of Plastic Strain for DP590 steel alloy. The shape-dependent term in the mention criterion can generalize the application of this criterion in order to predict the behavior of other materials. Plane stress case and the first quarter of the stres...
